Application Form for Vocational Training Courses
Technical Training Centre offers Vocational Training courses to visually challenged adults in a wide range of industrial and other occupations and skills. Integrated to the training are orientation and mobility, personality development, communication skills etc.
This one year course is for those who have passed class VIII and are in the age bracket of 17 to 35 years. Training covers such areas of factory work, as assembly jobs, inspection work, operating such machines as fly press, power press, drilling, tapping and grinding machines etc. The course is recognized by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Delhi and is equivalent to normal I.T.I. Course.
This one-year course is a simplified version of the General Mechanic-cum-Machine Operator’s course suiting those whose educational level is minimal. Minimum age limit is 17 years. This course is conducted on the same lines as the above course, focusing essentially on practical training.
During and post training the trainees are given the opportunity in the workshop to actually make items, orders for which the workshop secures from factories and corporate offices etc. This practical experience helps the trainees in comprehending well the quality and efficient production requirements of the industry and market and they prepare them for taking up employment outside.
This six month training course is open to young visually impaired (between 17 to 35 years), especially those who are not good in academics. Besides book binding skills the trainees are taught to make simple paper products like carry bags, file covers, note pads, etc. that can provide them a sustained livelihood.
This 3-month course has been designed and conducted in collaboration with the famous VLCC Institute of Beauty, Health & Management. Training is imparted in Swedish, Thai, Aroma and Head Massage, including the use of gadgets like vibrator for relaxation and fat reduction. This training has opened up new avenues for job and self-employment for the visually challenged.
The training programme is being upgraded through incorporating simple elements of anti-aging Ayurvedic facial and other massage as well as pain management techniques of magneto therapy, acupressure, foot-reflexology etc.
Candle making unit provides training and remunerative work to the visually impaired. The Unit also accepts trainees from NGOs/welfare organisations desirous of starting such production programmes in their centers. The Unit also offers its technical know how and assistance to such organizations. Wide range of candles produced at BRA are greatly sought after by the public.
The one-year training prepares low-vision and orthopedically handicapped in repair and maintenance of such household electrical and electronic gadgets as electric iron, transistor radio, tape recorders, television sets, inverters, mobile phones.
The Computer Training Unit has three well-equipped computer labs. These labs cater to needs of computer education of school students as well adult blind trainees.
Under the programme students of class VIII to class XII are taught the basics of computer, familiarization with Windows MS office operations, use of internet, programming in FoxPro, familiarization and use of Jaws and other screen reading softwares, Indian Language Software programmes, voice synthesizers, scanning and Braille conversion softwares, use of internet etc.
This 4-month full-time courses open to visually impaired adults with the minimum qualification of Senior Secondary. The training is tailored to prepare them to avail the growing job opportunities in IT-related and IT-supported office operations. Besides training them on general computer applications, as mentioned above, the trainees are also groomed in such soft skills as, English conversation, personality development etc.
